2.1 Center Objectives
The Negev Development& Employment Center (hereinafter: "The Center") is responsible for treating and coordinating economic development, investments and employment in the Negev region, through full cooperation with different professional departments in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the various governmental authorities.
2.2 Areas of Responsibility
- Creating the infrastructure and programs for the development of employment and economy in the Negev, including through new aid programs or the updating of existing programs.
- Creating initiatives for the development of specific branches that enjoy a relative advantage in the region.
- Removal of obstacles and coordination expedited work procedures for the development of business and shortening of the time required for handling new investments.
- Attracting factories from the center of the country to the Negev.
- Marketing, identifying and accompanying local and foreign investors.
- Creating unique publicity materials for investors in the Negev.
- Coordinating development activities in the Negev vis-à-vis the Negev and the Galilee Development Ministry and the Negev Development Authority.
- Following up on treatment of investments in the relevant professional areas.
