The Industrial Cooperation Authority and Israel Export Institute Launch the Israel Automotive Industry Catalogue for 2014

Israel exports a billion dollars of goods annually to the global automotive industry.

The Industrial Cooperation Authority (ICA) and the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) have published the 2014 edition of the Israel Automotive Industry catalogue.

Israel exports a billion dollars worth of goods each year to the global automotive industry in parts, systems, modules and tooling, production line systems, spare parts and after-market products and accessories.

The ICA and IEICI have direct contact with the world's leading automotive industries, tier I and tier II vehicle manufacturers, and has long-term agreements with some of them for Industrial Cooperation with the ICA. This catalogue is a vital work tool for the ICA and will serve its staff and the Ministry of Economy's representatives overseas in promoting potential deals for the Israeli companies appearing in the catalogue, in contacts with the companies, vehicle manufacturers and subcontractors that undertook industrial cooperation obligations, as well as those without commitments to make such procurements.

The magazine contains a comprehensive article on the sector and advertisement pages from 70 enterprises that present their capabilities through text and images. In addition, there is a detailed index arranged according to areas of endeavor with more than 200 companies engaged in the sector. The information will also appear in CD format and on the Ministry of Economy's ICA website. The catalogue and CD will be distributed at exhibitions, conferences and through the Ministry's of Economy's Trade Attaches worldwide.

Gabriel Golomb, ICA Acting Director General said, "Industrial Cooperation of foreign companies with the Israeli industry amounted to about $12 billion in the past few years. Fulfillment of Industrial Cooperation obligations has a huge importance for the Israeli economy and opens doors to new markets, increases exports, strengthens industry and helps transfer professional know how to Israeli companies while increasing the number of jobs in the country.

Ofer Sachs, IEICI CEO said, "The Israel Export Institute continually monitors trends in the world's automotive market, and together with representatives of Israel's automotive industry and the ICA assists many manufacturers and exporters in succeeding to break into and make sales in the international automotive market. This year the IEICI and ICA helped Israeli companies meet with representatives of leading international vehicle manufacturers including: Skoda, Ford, BMW, Chrysler and MAN and more."

About 200 major foreign companies worldwide carry out Industrial Cooperation at about 500 Israeli enterprises. A significant portion of these activities involves small \and medium-sized businesses in peripheral regions.

The trend has recently strengthened of procurements in Israel that are above the required amounts as a result of the experience and know-how gained by foreign companies in their joint business activities with Israeli companies. The ICA believes that it is possible to substantially increase exports in the coming years and bring in many new enterprises to the Industrial Cooperation framework.

The ICA is the unit in the Ministry of Economy responsible for achieving Industrial Cooperation by foreign companies with Israeli companies stemming from procurements by the government, government companies, and other public bodies. These procurements include combat equipment for the Defense ministry, power station equipment for the Israel Electric Corp., procurement of trains, carriages, and various vehicles, port and airport equipment, computers, electronics and communications equipment and more.

The IEICI is a non-profit organization that works together with the Israeli government and the private sector. The IEICI promotes industrial and services exports and develops trade relations, business cooperation and strategic partnerships with overseas companies. The IEICI provides services to thousands of Israeli exporters and businesspeople.
