The Department for Import Policy, located in the Foreign Trade Administration, is responsible for the policy of the Government of the State of Israel dealing with imports of goods into Israel. Since the 1990's the Government has actively implemented a liberalization process in international trade in order to simplify the import process for all. The policy fully complies with Israel's commitments taken in the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO). One of the main objectives of the department is to expand the transparency of the Government's activities in all aspects connected to the import process.
