The Law (1984), its amended form along with directives
of the Director General provide for a number of support schemes for industrial
R&D:
1. The development of a novel product
A single or multi-year program that will
provide know-how, processes or methods for the manufacture of a new product or
the significant improvement in an existing one or a new process or a
significant improvement in an existing process.
The product must have a sizeable potential
for export sales.
The support is in the form of a conditional
grant amounting to 20%, 30%, 40 or 50% of the approved R&D budget.
Application forms (in Hebrew) are available

“Development Area A” is entitled to a conditional grant of 10% above of the
approved budget.
In any area delineated as “Front Line” the
conditional grant amounts to 25% of the approved budget with the higher figure
for companies that also manufacture in that area.
Royalty Payments
Any income deriving from an R&D program
that has enjoyed government support is liable for the payment of royalties to the
OCS. The royalty payments are based upon a percentage of sales up to the
repayment of the grant. Further details are available at the OCS web site.
